review this case according to nichols. >> thank you. >>> 24 hours ago this was the scene in adams morgan. a car jumped the curb, hit two women, ran right into that d.c. restaurant. tonight police say the drive was drunk and way over the legal limit -- the driver was drunk and way over the legal limit. fox 5's wisdom martin has an update. >> reporter: while the car is gone, the mess remains behind in front of the restaurant. as far as the two victims hit by the car remain in the hospital fighting for their lives. the driver faces some very serious charges of driving while intoxicated and aggravated assault. according to charging documents, chamica adams was intoxicated when she hit julie backliner, a student at johns is hopkins school for advanced international studies in washington d.c. and melissa basque before crashing into a restaurant. her blood alcohol content was .18, over two time the legal limit. 23-year-old adams seen in handcuffs here was driving a 2007 dodge charger southbound on 18th street when she hit two women standing on a traffic island. police say adams continued

pedestrians and plowed into an adams morgan restaurant. the driver of that car faced a judge this afternoon. accused of hitting the two women last night, a florida avenue, the police claim she was driving drunk when she lost control of the vehicle and paul wagner is live with more. >> reporter: adams was before a judge about two hours ago. we saw the court-charging documents and in those charging game downtown los angeles, we learned her blood alcohol level and police say it was .18, a little more than twice the legal limit. and police say adams was driving around 18th street when she hit the two and d.c. police say the 23-year-old seen here in handcuffs was driving a 2007 dodge charger southbound on 18th street when she hit two women standing on a traffic island and waiting to cross the street. adams continued to cross florida avenue where she jumped the curb and hit a tree ending up inside the front of the restaurant and adams was not hurt but one suffered serious head trauma and the second in her 20s, sustained fractures to her face, a broken leg and bleeding on the brain. >> that could

are posted up and down the eastern seaboard. the areas of biggest concern of the beaches. adam is standing by live in one of the communities, ocean city. what can we expect in the hours to come? >> today will be fantastic. the beach-goers are getting in the last day of sunshine. about the more effects in detail. let's give the latest -- still a major category four hurricane. look at our storms can. maximum sustained winds at 140 miles per hour, but with higher gusts. it is 300 miles south of cape hatteras. it has continued to push north. it will and direct with an upper level when flow tomorrow. that will push it off to the east and accelerate it. by 8:00 a.m. and should be positioned about 125 miles east of virginia beach, by 2:00 p.m. about 125 miles due east of ocean city. that is when we can expect some of the biggest effects. a tropical storm warning is in effect for the peninsula and the beaches along here. we have occurred came watch. -- a hurricane watch. more detail, coming up. >> thank you. amtrak announced that hurricane earl oil is impacting some of their areas. the de

being felt up and down the coast. wjz is live with extensive first warning coverage. adam may reports and alex demetrick has more on how maryland is preparing and tim williams and marty bass are tracking earl. tim? >> this thing is still a monster storm and a category 4- rbgs consider add major storm, a major huncht anything category 3 and above is considered major. let's give you an update from the national hurricane center. earl is moving at 18 miles an hour. the storm has sustained winds of 3 -- 138 miles an hour, 200 miles from the center. as it moves on by, it is expected to generate some more watches and warnings, but still a category 2 as it moves past hour latitude. marty will talk about this and the plot in just a moment. what we're talking about, a hurricane watch is in effect for suffolk county and accally mat county, virginia, the pink and coastal flood advisories that we are not as concerned about, but we're talking about them because there will ab water buildup in the bay that will be short lived and moved out as the storm moves on past. for more on the timing of this wi

, north carolina, but we want to begin with adam caskey in ocean city. bring us up-to-date. >> we are live in ocean city, and this tends to flood first. locals would now read a bit of a wash on the parking lot. -- locals would know. a bit of a wash up on the parking lot. this has been downgraded to category 1 at 11:00 a.m. maximum sustained winds at 85 miles per hour. as expected, it is accelerating now. it is centered 152 miles to the southeast from right here in ocean city. later on this evening, 8:00 p.m., it should be 245 miles to the northeast of ocean city. this should continue to slowly weekend. high tide at 4: 8. we will see these which continue to push up on the beach. -- these waves continue to push up on the beach. really the maximum wind gusts are only about 30 miles per hour. we may see a few slightly higher costs, but we are not anticipating it to get much worse than this. we're anticipating the sunset. where we are really seeing improvement is in north carolina. let's go to atlantic beach. >> it beautiful sunshine have to be on tap tonight, because there is not a cloud

baltimore city. it happened near penn station and the jfx. adam may has more. good afternoon, adam. >> reporter: good afternoon, jessica. a simple question is what led up to the stabbing. right now two 14-year-olds, a male and female are facing charges. also arrested, a 16-year-old male. baltimore city police arrest three juveniles monday near penn station. they're' queuesed of stabbing a 37-year-old in what appeared to be a botched robbery. >> they approached the victim and asked him for some change. the victim declined to give them any change. one of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest. >> reporter: the victim suffer lad collapsed lung. following that murder police beefed up patrols. >> the officer saw the victim, contacted ems, contacted the police department. we've located the juveniles and identified the suspect. >> reporter: right now police cannot release the names of the suspects because they are charged as juveniles. they are reviewing the case right now to see if the charges will be eventually upgraded to attempted murder. >> adam, it's unclear if

, all swimmers were ordered out of that water. wjz has extensive first warning weather coverage. adam may is in ocean city already, feeling the storm's impact. alex demetrick with more on how the storm is preparing. and meteorologist bob turk, tracking earl's every movement for us. we'll go immediately to bob. >> take a look at radar. rain bands moving into the carolina coast. you can see a few of those light rain bands. and a few sprinkles around the norfolk area. as we continue to contract and watch this up toward the general region over the next 12 to 24 hours. take a look at the track once again. we'll be updating this as the storm comes in. but the storm has been dropped to a category 3 storm. it was a 4 most of the day. winds down to 125, moving off to the north. eventually to the northeast at around 18 miles per hour. by the time it gets up to noon, it will be a category bonn. in -- category 1. in our region, offshore by noon, probably a strong category 2. let's go to a couple of graphics real quick. we have a closeup view. you can see the track just offshore, moving there. i t
